LAHORE: In its ongoing crackdown against gas theft, SNGPL has disconnected 125 illegal connections across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad. The company has also imposed fines amounting to Rs 3.7 million on violators.
In Lahore, 26 illegal connections were severed, along with one for compressor use, resulting in fines of Rs 1.63 million. The Gujranwala team disconnected 4 illegal connections, imposing fines of Rs 0.36 million, while in Gujrat, 1 illegal connection and 2 for compressor use were terminated.
Faisalabad saw 4 disconnections, with fines totaling Rs 0.05 million. The Sheikhupura team severed 5 connections, resulting in fines of Rs 0.67 million. In Multan, 20 connections were cut due to illegal usage, and 4 for compressor use. Sahiwal followed with 4 illegal connections and 2 for compressor use, with fines of Rs 0.04 million imposed. The Bahawalpur team disconnected 12 connections for compressor use.
In Mardan, 5 connections were disconnected with fines of Rs 0.63 million imposed. In Sargodha, 3 connections were cut, while in Rawalpindi, 2 connections were disconnected due to illegal usage. In Islamabad, 1 connection was cut off.
Peshawar and Karak saw the disconnection of 25 illegal connections, with an additional connection for compressor use, resulting in fines of Rs 0.32 million. The Abbottabad team disconnected 1 illegal connection and 2 for compressor use, imposing Rs 0.02 million in fines.
